Bitcoin is hope for me
Hi all, I was medically discharged from the Army due to a nerve condition known as CRPS, among other conditions related to 15 years of neuropathic pain. This has significantly impacted my life. With three children, the cost of living is incredibly high! Each week, I can save, at most, about $125 after covering bills, mortgage repayments, food, kids' sports, and so on. My wife works 60+ hours a week, and her psoriasis is the worst it's ever been. She hardly spends any time with the kids and is also clinically obese. Despite all this, she's a great mum, but the toll of working so much in an overworked, underappreciated, customer-facing role undoubtedly impacts her mental health. At work, she deals with a lot of doctors (not all as there are some kind Doctors) who are narcissists and demand unreasonable work loads pulling her in multiple directions. She also picks at and eats the scabs from her scalp, which could be a symptom of stress or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (I'm encouraging her to get a mental health care plan before she spirals more out of control). Anyway, I have no doubt many of you, like us, are just trying to survive each day. Simply saving fiat currency will never see our standard of living improve. Furthermore, throwing $100 a week into the stock market isn't going to get us ahead with three children and the cost of housing. Our government seems obsessed with housing, and by design, many politicians own a lot of properties, creating a significant conflict of interest around housing policy. For us, Bitcoin represents hope. Is it healthy to place so much hope in Bitcoin? I'm not sure, but I can't see any other way (other than taking risks of starting a business etc however we do not have the entrepreneurial spirit due to our health) to improve our standard of living. We're already working incredibly hard with no meaningful improvement to our quality of life. What about you? What is Bitcoin to you? submitted by /u/uniqueheadshape [link] [comments]
