I sold Bitcoin even though I believe in it and here is why

So, I have been investing in Bitcoin since early 2024 and accumulated 0.9BTC, but I sold 0,43BTC today even though I am still convinced that Bitcoin could hit a million or more in the future. It feels a bit strange to have made this bold move, but here is the reasoning behind it: I have two little kids and a wife. After listening to the audiobook "psychology of money" one phrase stuck with me: You do not have to win big, but you must not lose big. So I asked myself, what if I happen to be wrong somehow and bitcoin has an FTX moment, like MSTR collapsing and taking Bitcoin out for a decade to recover. That would have immediate impact on the life of my kids and I could not look them in the eyes knowing that my financial bets made a negative impact on their lifes. Therefore, I am planning to diversify more with the earnings into Gold and FTSE All World ETF. Deep inside this feels wrong as I am fairly convinced of Bitcoin, but I can't leave any risk open to over exposure for the sake of my kids. Tell me this was not wrong. submitted by /u/web-programmer [link] [comments]

I have two little kids and a wife.
