The time is now
The autonomy and self-sovereignty of Bitcoin is currently under serious threat. I won't rehash the details here but I'd like to summarize two things you as a bitcoiner can do right now, in order of importance: 1) Run your own node using Knots, not Core. You can purchase dedicated hardware like Start9 or Umbrel, or install Knots on your existing (or repurposed) computer. I recommend a dedicated hard drive of at least 2TB for the bitcoin data directory. 2) Consider the purchase of a cheap, highly efficient miner, and point it at one of the smaller mining pools or a solo pool. Bitaxe Gamma is a great choice and only requires a WiFi connection. Bitcoin has endured many threats, but that doesn't mean it's invincible. submitted by /u/palalab [link] [comments]
