Senior Zepto exec Vivek Prasad resigns, joins Apollo Brands

IPO-bound Zepto's Senior Vice President for Private Brands, Vivek Prasad, has resigned from the quick commerce firm and joined Apollo Brands as President, a source familiar with the development told YourStory.

Prasad, who joined the quick commerce unicorn in February 2024, has previously worked with ecommerce players like Blinkit, Unizap, and Foodpanda, among others.

Queries sent to Prasad by YourStory did not immediately elicit a response. A Zepto spokesperson said the company wishes him all the best for his future endeavours.

The departure comes at a crucial time for the Bengaluru-based startup, which is gearing up for a public markets debut with a $1 billion IPO. According to regulatory filings, Zepto had also changed its parent name from Kiranakart to Zepto Private Limited.

Last week, Zepto Co-founder and CEO Aadita Palicha alleged a smear campaign from a rival CFO in the quick commerce space. He clarified that Zepto's Gross Order Value (GOV) per month grew to Rs 2,400 crore in May 2025 compared to Rs 750 crore in May 2024.

In a LinkedIn post, he clarified that the majority of Zepto's dark stores will be fully EBITDA-positive by the next quarter. He also expects the company's overall EBITDA profitability and operating cash flow to be within a few 100 basis points of breakeven by the September quarter.

Besides multiple call-outs from users on the company's alleged dark patterns on its app, Zepto also made headlines for temporarily shutting down some of its newly launched cafes in North India due to supply chain issues.

The company has closed around 44 outlets, impacting over 400 employees.
