Turin-based Wibo, an EdTech startup helping companies grow by strengthening their internal capabilities through executive-led learning paths, has closed a €500k round to consolidate its presence in the Italian market, expand its training areas by integrating content on AI, and accelerate the development of its proprietary technology.
Leading the round is a group of prominent business leaders, many of whom had already collaborated with Wibo as Executive Teachers. Among them: Simone Cimminelli (angel investor), Andrea Incondi (Vice President Europe South at Flix), Lorenzo Lagorio (Italy Country Manager at easyJet), Elena Mirandola (former CEO of F.C. Como Women), Giacomo Trovato (CEO of Genertel), Duccio Vitali (CEO & Founder of Alkemy), Oscar Farinetti (Founder of Eataly), and Marco Fassone (former CEO of top football clubs including Milan, Napoli, and Juventus, now a Business Advisor at Wibo).
The round was also backed by Talent Garden and supported by the VC fund Techstars, which previously joined a former round.
“Our vision is to help organisations, teams, and individuals successfully navigate the future of work by combining human and tech skills,” explain Co-founders Tommaso Seita and Alessandro Busso. “We do this through a unique training model that allows people to learn from international executives by blending live sessions, exercises, and practical tools. With this round, we will expand our team with 5 new hires over the next three months, bring in high-profile talent in the field of artificial intelligence, and develop a proprietary platform to further enhance the learning experience”.
Founded in 2019 by Seita and Busso, Wibo started as a reward-based quiz app. After pivoting in 2020 toward live quiz sessions for events and training, the real turning point came in mid-2022 when the founders identified a growing need in the HR and Learning & Development space.
Its training model merges two complementary dimensions:
- Human skills – such as leadership, communication, and team management.
- Technological skills with a focus on the practical and conscious use of AI.
Wibo has already partnered with over 150 corporates and multinationals, such as Unicredit, Petronas, Huawei, Crédit Agricole, and Amazon – training more than 14,500 people in Italy and abroad.
Wibo’s goal is to create upskilling and leadership programmes that combine human skills and technology, making training not only memorable but also practical and immediately applicable to everyday work.
“I saw extraordinary potential in Wibo from the very beginning. After collaborating as an
Executive Teacher, investing in their growth was the natural next step,” says Andrea Incondi, investor and VP Europe South at Flix “I truly believe in the Founders, Tommaso and Alessandro, and their young, ambitious team that dared to innovate a traditional sector with a solid, scalable business model capable of creating real impact in today’s fast-changing work environment”.
Wibo believes that traditional corporate training, often perceived as ineffective and disconnected from real work, is in urgent need of a radical shift. According to the scientific Forgetting Curve model, 90% of information from traditional learning is forgotten within one week. Gartner also reports that 60% of HR leaders view the lack of effective training paths as a major barrier to managerial development.
Wibo looks to address this with their experiential, business-oriented, and led by those who live business every day. Each programme is delivered in small groups and kicks off with a live session featuring executives from companies like Nike, Amazon, Google, Spotify, Airbnb, and Uber, who share their direct experience from leading global organisations.
These insights are then translated into simulations, role-playing activities, targeted questions, and guided exercises, conducted by trainers with genuine corporate backgrounds. Each module concludes with the definition of specific “Sparks”- concrete, actionable steps to implement immediately at work.
“Today’s corporate training is still seen as flat, boring, uninspiring and most importantly, ineffective. It often lacks real business context, as it is typically created by professional trainers who have never experienced company life from the inside,” continue the Founders. “That’s why Wibo helps companies bridge the gap between human and AI skills, combining leadership, communication, and team management with the practical, conscious adoption of artificial intelligence. Our model is simple yet powerful: humans superpowering humans. We use real-world experience to make learning a true driver of business success”.
Wibo’s team currently consists of 15 people ( a rise of 50% since 2024), with 5 new hires planned in the next three months across product, tech, and customer success.
Wibo has launched a pre-registration list for free access to its first Wibo Humans+AI Mini-Academy.
