Is BTC just for the intellectual elite? Is understanding it “Proof of Work”?
I have put over my 100 hours in over the past few months reading the whitepaper, reading The Bitcoin Standard, and listening to hours and hours of podcasts. I also read this and other subreddits. This includes “Buttcoin” , trying to find out the case against BTC. I have discussed with my family and some close friends and have come to the conclusion that BTC wealth will be conglomerated by the intellectual elite. The issue is that it is very complicated to understand. For those that put the effort in, as people on this subreddit, there is obvious understanding of the reason that BTC is the perfect money. But to get there, you have to put the time in and have a far more than basic understanding of the financial system. I was an economics major so many of the concepts necessary to understand the nuances were already known to me. But for those without that background, it is a lot of effort to learn macroeconomics for the first time. I do think BTC is a democratic asset, available to all not like where there is insider trading that occurs. However outside of the rich and powerful, who oftentimes are very intelligent, it will be the retail investors who are willing to put the work in and are able to understand why it is inevitable will be the ones to flourish in the future. submitted by /u/AgitatedJury9632 [link] [comments]
