Canucks place Noah Juulsen on IR, recall D Elias Pettersson, F Linus Karlsson from AHL

The Vancouver Canucks are shuffling their roster ahead of Thursday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers.
The team announced Wednesday that defenceman Noah Juulsen has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 14. In a corresponding move, defenceman Elias Pettersson and forward Linus Karlsson have been recalled from AHL Abbotsford.
Juulsen, 27, has missed the past three games with an undisclosed injury.
Pettersson, 20, is the team’s No. 5 ranked prospect, per NHL.com and made the jump to North American professional hockey last season. This year, he’s spent his time in Abbotsford, developing with the farm team, where he has one goal and 13 points in 36 games.
Karlsson, 25, has also spent the majority of his playing time this season in the AHL, recording 12 goals and 18 points in 17 games. In 2023-24 with Abbotsford, Karlsson had 60 points in 60 games (23 goals, 37 assists). He’s appeared in six career NHL games.
