Matt Maltese has shared a wistful new single called ‘Anytime, Anyplace, Anyhow’. Check it out below.
Released today (January 22), the new track marks the first new music from the singer, songwriter and instrumentalist in 2025. Capturing his signature charm, the song explores that feeling of magnetism that some people carry and the way it can impact day-to-day life.
“Anytime, anyplace, anyhow/ You’re allowed to call me to your hotel suite/ I don’t care who you’re with or where you’ve been/ Anytime, anyplace, anyhow/ You’re allowed to treat me like a piece of meat/ I don’t care if it’s been a year or if it’s been 16,” he sings in the subdued chorus.
“Chronically affected by flashbacks/ Perpetually devoted to what we had/ Hope you know.” Check it out below.
“I think there are those people for all of us that occupy a certain incomprehensible place in our brain… a place we don’t quite have control over,” Maltese said of the inspiration for the new release.
“People that have affected you so deeply you almost live with them still, remembering and imagining them against your will. And this song speaks to that, and to the physical (sorry) side of it too.”
The new music from the artist comes as he recently wrapped up a huge run of tour dates throughout 2024. Making stops across Asia, Australia and New Zealand to wrap up the year, the shows came on the heels of dates in the US, Europe and the UK.
The latter included his biggest show to date at the Wiltern in Los Angeles and a sold-out show at London’s Brixton Electric.
The year before he established his own indie label called Last Recordings On Earth, signing NME Radar artist Searows as his first artist.
After that, he also shared a covers album called ‘Songs That Aren’t Mine’ and made his theatre songwriting debut – composing all original music and lyrics for The Royal Shakespeare Company’s latest production of Twelfth Night.
