Uchronia Creates Maximalist Interiors for Koibird's London Boutique

Across interior design, we've got used to muted tones and natural materials (either truly natural or faux) reigning supreme. In fact, they've become so ubiquitous that it sometimes becomes difficult to ascertain one space from another. With that in mind, employing a bit of maximalism becomes an excellent trick for instantly standing out – and that's exactly what Uchronia has done for the remodel of Koibird's London boutique. From the moment you enter the store, you're transported into the world of Koibird. The brand's color palette has been applied through the flooring and walls, while a huge shelving installation resembles the "K" from its logo. Whether you're firmly in the more is more camp, or prefer a stripped-back aesthetic, you've got to agree their approach works when it comes to creating an immersive space. All around the store, bold hues of green, pink, and purple blend into one another. Accents are created through silver focal points: a silver "planet" in the middle of the store, and a silver-tiled room towards the back, where homeware is on show. A custom-seating area is upholstered in silver fabric and takes on a space-age-inspired shape designed to fit with the rest of the interior scheme."Through the careful selection of sustainable artisanal materials, the floor showcases a unique hand-painted enameled lava stone, specifically designed for the location," explains Julien Sebban, founder of Uchronia – reflecting on the studio's specific choices."The walls feature a gradient of colors from purple to green, reflecting KOIBIRD’S iconic hues and creating an immersive atmosphere. With its counter made of recycled materials and metallic seating, KOIBIRD will engage its visitors in a unique universe, blending purity and futurism."“With the redesign, we aim to engage all the senses," adds Koibird founder Belma Gaudio.Swipe through the gallery to take a look around.Koibird62 Marylebone LaneLondon, W1U 2PBClick here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
