FITUR Active Tourism Awards

MADRID – The International Tourism Trade Fair, organised by IFEMA MADRID, presents the winning initiatives of the 30th FITUR Active Tourism Awards, promoted in collaboration with AireLibre Magazine. As in each edition, the aim of these prestigious awards is to honour companies and professionals who develop innovative tourism products, promoting experiences aligned with the principles of sustainability that mark the future of the industry.

More than 60 proposals were submitted for these awards, which recognise two outstanding projects in the national and international categories. During the evaluation process, the jury assessed characteristics such as the newness and innovation of the product, its contribution to sustainable tourism development in its economic, environmental and social aspects, and the quality of its image and marketing elements.

 National category
  • ‘España en Floración’ (Spain in bloom) from Soluciones Agromarketing, is an innovative agrotourism product that transforms seasonal blooms into an attractive, sustainable and differentiated tourism product. The proposal develops and coordinates flowering experiences throughout Spain, integrating cultural, gastronomic and adventure activities in some of the country’s most picturesque landscapes through the creation of a network of actors, training and technological tools to attract flows of national and international visitors.
  • ‘Educabike: Pedalea y descubre (Pedal and discover)Esport Actiu’s proposal brings the public closer to an active and sustainable tourism project, especially designed for education centres. It offers guided cycling routes through some of the most stunning natural environments of the Valencian Community, adapted to different groups of students and focused on equality and inclusion. These routes explore places of great ecological value and immerse participants in a unique tourism/educational experience.
 International category
  • ‘TUI Forest Kenia’. TUI’s project combines reforestation and community development to preserve and restore 242,812 m² in the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in the heart of the Tsavo National Park. The initiative includes the planting of 40,000 native trees and the training of local communities in tree nurseries, forest management and conservation. It also integrates nature-based tourism experiences, inviting visitors to participate in reforestation and leave a ‘green footprint’ through activities such as planting trees during their safaris. The proposal also promotes environmental education with the participation of local communities and schools.
  • ‘Cartagena de Indias, nueva apuesta del producto: Turismo religioso’. (Cartagena de Indias, a new product initiative: ‘Religious tourism’) The Cartagena de Indias Tourism Corporation presents the City Agenda 2024 which seeks to promote transformative experiences based on spiritual, cultural and family values. Developed together with the Archdiocese of Cartagena, COTELCO, ASOTELCA and ANATO, this project includes more than 10 highlighted activities, such as the ‘confessionathon’, the ‘Run for your faith’ race, the commemoration of the Virgen del Carmen (patron saint of seafarers), the switching on of the lights adorning the Virgin of the Bay and the ‘Faith Music’ concert, all of them designed to promote tourism with a sustainable and community approach.

The winners will be awarded an accreditation diploma on their stand at FITUR 2025 , taking place from 22 to 26 January at IFEMA MADRID.
