It didn’t seem to affect him much as he played, and after his victory he explained just how he did it. And he gave the fans in attendance, as well as interviewer Rob Walker, a bit of a laugh in the process. “I’m in bits after that,” he began. “With what’s gone on today that’s one of the best wins of my career. “Do you know what? I could make up a story of how I sprained my ankle, I could make it really extravagant – but it’s literally just because I fell asleep in bed. “You know when you’re in a hotel and they tuck the quilt into the mattress? My foot has landed in an awkward position for eight hours and I’ve woken up and I couldn’t move.
