Marvel Rumor Roundup – Spider-Man 4 & Nova Casting – Watchers In Doomsday/Secret Wars |Barside Buzz

Here’s your latest Marvel Barside Buzz including, Spider-Man 4 and Nova casting rumors, plus multiple Watchers in Doomsday/Secret Wars. The information here all comes from Daniel RPK On Patreon. Daniel says he’s heard Marvel/Sony are casting for a new love interest for Spider-Man 4. Fans have been clamouring for Black Cat for a while but Daniel hasn’t heard a character name for this one yet.

Additionally he says that Marvel has begun an open casting call for Richard Rider to lead the Nova series in development. Apparently, it’s open to any ethnicity, so Marvel are throwing out a wide net at this stage. Only thing with this one I could have issue with, is that far as we know no script has been picked up. It would be unusual for casting to have begin without a greenlight on a pitch at least. Maybe that has happened and we just don’t know?

Finally Daniel has heard that multiple Watchers will appear in both Doomsday and Secret Wars. The Watchers are usually more than one in the comics. Though, so far we’ve only met Uatu in the What If? series. I wonder if Jeffrey wright will return to voice the character/characters if true?

Given the suspected Multiversal plot of both Doomsday and Secret Wars, it makes sense for the Watchers to show up. Though in what capacity I have no idea?

As for the Spider-Man 4 story, I wonder if this is part of one rumor we heard about one of the themes of the film. Namely that Holland’s Spider-Man gives up being Peter Parker, in a reversal of the Spider-Man 2 plot line. If that is the case, then you can see why fans think Black Cat could be the perfect choice, yet MJ still remains in the movie. One would imagine Peter will go back to being Peter by the end. That’s if any of this is true, which I cannot guarantee.
