Guerlain relaunches Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil Serum with Deep Repair Technology
The revamped Watery Oil Serum combines green sciences with nature-inspired ingredients and eco-conscious practices, in line with Guerlain’s sustainability mission.
Guerlain, part of LVMH Beauty, has relaunched its hero Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil Serum, with a new Deep Repair Technology that supports skin regeneration and tackles signs of ageing.
The refreshed serum, made with 99% naturally derived ingredients, offers a lightweight watery oil texture that fuses into the skin. It is available in 15ml, 30ml and 50ml formats and launched in select Guerlain stores across global travel retail yesterday (20 January).
The reformulated serum builds on Guerlain’s partnership with French laboratory Restore, specialising in Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSC). This collaboration explored the role of MSCs in healthy skin repair and found that age and oxidative stress diminish their regenerative abilities. Guerlain’s Deep Repair Technology preserves and revitalises MSC function, promoting improved skin texture, elasticity and firmness.
The formula, supported by nine patents, combines three potent honeys from black bees sourced from remote, environmentally protected regions in France, Ireland and Norway.
Rich in phytochemicals, amino acids and vitamins, these honeys work synergistically to stimulate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production, key components for combatting the signs of ageing.
Instrumental and clinical studies reveal that the skin is immediately smoothed and hydrated after the first application, with a +124% increase in hydration.
After one hour, wrinkles are reduced by -25% and skin appears plumper and more radiant. After one month, elasticity improves by +56%, radiance by +60% and firmness by +53%, with signs of ageing visibly diminished.
The relaunch of the Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil Serum aligns with Guerlain’s ongoing commitment to sustainability with the black bee-derived ingredients sourced through responsible beekeeping practices.
In addition, Guerlain’s ‘For Bees Conservation Programme’ continues to support biodiversity through initiatives such as the Ouessant Island Black Bee Conservation Association, the Women for Bees programme and Bee Schools for children.
