Edwyn Collins announces first album in 6 years, shares “Knowledge”
‘Nation Shall Speak Unto Nation’ is the former Orange Juice frontman’s 10th solo album and will be out March 14
Former Orange Juice frontman Edwyn Collins has announced his 10th album and first in six years. It’s titled Nation Shall Speak Unto Nation and it’s out March 14 via his own AED Records. It was made at his own Clashnarrow Studio in Helmsdale, North East Scotland and was co-produced by Edwyn with Sean Read and Jake Hutton, who also play on the album. The record also features contributions from Pretenders guitarist James Walbourne and Edwyn’s son, William, on bass.
The album’s first single and opening track is “Knowledge,” a twangy, reflective ballad. “Knowledge is something I think about,” Edwyn says of the song. “I used to be quite brainy, still am in a way. But knowledge is wisdom, combined with all the things you’ve learned. I think, I hope I’ve learned a lot.” You can watch the video below.
